Indian citizens do not need a visa for Bhutan but need an entry permit, which is arranged at Phuentsholing. Drukyatra assists with all permits. Carry a valid Passport (6 months validity) or Voter ID, plus passport-size photos.

March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn) are the best seasons for clear mountain views, festivals and the Tiger's Nest hike. Winter (December to February) is cold but dry and good for Phobjikha's Black-necked cranes.
